The first installment of Abbas Kiarostami’s Koker Trilogy, Khane-ye doust kodjast? is named after the village where the trilogy is set. A revealing portrait of rural Iranian society, the film was inspired by a mystical poem by the venerated artist Sohrab Sepehri (1928–1980), and follows a boy’s search for the home of a classmate whose notebook he has accidentally taken.
