To Whom it May Concern, There Will Be Tears in My Hennessy (Ch. III) (2023–) is a continuously evolving video installation offering a reflection on processes of grief, transformation and childhood. Installed monumentally on a suspended axis, the film screen is surrounded by a perimeter of sculptures where digitally rendered 3D imagery meets dystopian worldbuilding. A vaguely Gothic universe seems to have been derived from the video games and online subcultures of the 1990s and early 2000s.

To Whom it May Concern, There Will Be Tears in My Hennessy was inspired by and is dedicated to the artist’s deceased sister, Cécile Fauroux. Drawing from memories shared between the artist and her sister, the piece provides a psychogeography of mourning and fantasy, while meditating tragically on what could have been: a sphere of potentiality and creativity inspired by Cécile’s drawings and photographs.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Lou Fauroux (b. 1998, Mulhouse) lives and works in Seine-Saint-Denis. Using video, sculpture, installation and 3D animation, she fluidly interrogates the ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence and the influence of advanced technology on humans, looking to decipher the social structures of power inherent in pop culture and media, including music and video games. Incorporating her queer experience into multiple layers of narrative and representation, she poetically re-appropriates the images with which she grew up to construct new mythologies. Her solo exhibitions include The green lights have now faded, Exo Exo booth, Art Basel, Paris (2024); K-Detox, Grand Palais, Paris (2024); WhatRemains, La Galerie du Crous de Paris (2023). She has also been part of the group exhibitions explicite lyrique (explicit lyrical), Galerie Marcelle Alix, Paris (2025); Friche #3, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2024); Tous les jours, Galerie Chantal Crousel, Paris (2023).
