Açık Radyo hosts a sound performance by Tophane Noise Band in the open studio and exhibition space it has set up in Barın Han in the historic Çemberlitaş neighbourhood.

The noise mingles with the sounds of Sunday breakfast cutlery and the rhubarb rhubarb of the afternoon, and will accompany the ringing of the tram. The city's waste will come together in the open studio space of Açık Radyo at Barın Han in the historic Çemberlitaş neighbourhood. In this concert, you may come across an untimely crow, a radio frequency, sounds from another room of Barın Han and perhaps audience members' inability to contain themselves.

Tophane Noise Band feeds on the wastes of Tophane and cities. Both the materials they find and the materials they tirelessly store are their main source of nourishment and inspiration. Walking on a tightrope stretched between noise and silence is one of their favourite things, even if they fall, they do not get discouraged, they listen to the sound of the fall and replicate it.

Does it count as noise when a lorry loaded with dozens of objects designed to make noise drives at full speed past a music school, honking its horn? After all, everything is noise compared to silence.
