Ezgi Erol is an artist, curator, and researcher, with master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Vienna and the University of Mugla (TR), as well as in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her practice includes historical research, installation, video essay, editorial and curatorial work. She explores issues of memory, borders, economical arenas of global war, and landscape based on historical events, personal and institutional archives, and contemporary developments. Her works unfolds between spaces, colors, objects, and bodies and deal with shifts in the meaning of places and their social structure. She is a Ph.D. researcher at the Institute for Art and Cultural Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Currently, she is university assistant (pre-doc) and a lecturer at the Department for Transcultural Studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
