Feral Atlas: The-More-Than Human Anthropocene is a project that brings together natural scientists, humanists, artists, and designers. At its heart is a set of reports, essays, and artworks, each based on first-hand research on issues that, taken together, make up the Anthropocene. Established in 2011, TBA21–Academy similarly leads artists, scientists, and thought-leaders on the collaborative discovery of the ocean through the lens of art and engendering creative solutions to its most pressing issues. In this talk, moderated by Nicolas Bourriaud and an opportunity to reflect on the works on display at the Biennial, visual anthropologist Victoria Baskin Coffey will explore the practicalities and challenges of Feral Atlas as a multidisciplinary experiment, while Markus Reymann will elaborate on the formative experience of collaborating over time, across different programmes and disciplines, with artist Armin Linke on his work Prospecting Ocean.
