Ari P. Büyüktaş (b. 1984, İstanbul) is researcher, translator, writer and LGBTI+ rights activist. Ari is one of the editors and writers of Velvele.net. After graduating from Galatasaray University Sociology programme, they completed their master's degree in Strasbourg University Political and Social Sciences, and Central European University Gender Studies programmes. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD research on contemporary art and queer culture at Galatasaray University Media and Communication Studies Doctorate Programme. 

Ari P. Büyüktaş worked in projects on media, communication and gender equality in various non-governmental organizations that are focusing on LGBTI + rights and carrying out feminist studies. In addition, within the scope of civil society activities, they conducted trainings in areas such as sexual health, sexual violence, psychosocial dimension of sexuality, and gender-focused journalism; they held workshops and seminars on LGBTI + rights, queer feminist publishing, and queer theory. Ari P. Büyüktaş, one of the founders of Sel Publishing Queer Düş'ün Series, continues to work with various publishing houses and institutions as an editor, translator and translation editor.
