Nostalji Books & Coffee has been serving as a bookstore and café for thirty years in the Pangaltı Kurtuluş neighbourhood of Istanbul’s Şişli district. The venue has a distinctive book collection that resonates with the neighbourhood’s multicultural texture as well as hosts various workshops, book launches and gatherings of diverse non-governmental organisations.
Nostalji Books & Coffee serves as the main venue of the 17th Istanbul Biennial's Poetry Channel, in which 15 contemporary poets were invited to write a poem that responds to the current course of world events every month throughout 2021. The venue welcomes the Poetry Channel events that take place with the participation of the poets, and also hosts the Poetry Notebooks, in which all the poems, handwritten, are exhibited and can be read.
