The event is for participants between 8-12 years old.

Angela Ferreira's installation Zip Zap Circus School, hosts circus workshops and performances at the 17th Istanbul Biennial venue Gazhane Museum.

Angela Ferreira's work points out the potential of unfulfilled dreams by linking two unbuilt projects; a modernist museum project by Mies van der Rohe and a school project by Pancho Guedes for the Zip Zap Circus, which teaches circus skills to children from all walks of life in Cape Town.

The circus workshops will be held at the Zip Zap Circus School installation in the Museum Gazhane within the scope of the 17th Istanbul Biennial. These workshops will focus on up-cycling fabric waste into circus materials and learning about circus culture.

In the first workshop on Sunday, 30 October, basic circus materials will be introduced to the participants by working with poi, tenpin, ball, balance board, and wooden legs. On Sunday, 13 November, fabric wastes will be up-cycled into poi balls, and the participants will practice the basics of poi. If you want to join the workshop on 13 November, you should bring your fabric for up-cycling or leave your fabric waste in the Zip Zap waste collection box between 28 October and 11 November.

Note: Participation is limited to 20 people and registration is required.
