At the core of the Poetry Channel programme lies a poetic experiment, where 15 living poets write new poems. The programme also attempts to stretch time by bringing together contemporary poets with two great poets who are no longer alive, Faiz Ahmad Faiz (1911–1984), who wrote in Urdu and Punjabi, and Nâzım Hikmet (1902–1963), who wrote in Turkish. In this panel, the speakers will discuss the poetry and ongoing influence of Faiz Ahmad Faiz, who is only recently recognised in Turkey, together with the poetry and life of Nâzım Hikmet.
